PM Modi to inaugurate Mumbai Metro lines 2A and 7, Navi Mumbai Metro on Jan 19, 2023

Once operational around 3 lakh daily ridership will be seen in Mumbai Metro lines 2A and 7 routes.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will  inaugurate Mumbai Metro’s line 2A and 7 and Navi Mumbai Metro on January 19, 2023 at around 6:30 pm and also undertake a metro ride.

Final trials and tests on both Mumbai metro corridors are complete. The Navi Mumbai Metro also successfully completed its trail runs in both phases– phase 1 and phase 2.

The approximately Rs 6,410 crore Mumbai Metro line 2A, also known as the Yellow line has 17 metro stations. Pegged at approximately Rs 6,208,  Mumbai Metro line 7 also known as the Red line has 13 metro stations. Once operational around 3 lakh daily ridership will be seen in these routes.

The Rs 3,400 crore Navi Mumbai Metro project has 11 stations. Trials on this line finished on December 30, 2022. CIDCO has appointed the Maharashtra Metro Rail Corporation Limited (Maha Metro) to run Line 1 services for a period of 10 years.
