The Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) is a government initiative that provides affordable housing for all first-time homeowners. While you may have gone through a number of PMAY-related articles, note that this guide focuses on the latest information on how to apply online for Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana online in 2025 as the official website has been revamped to suit the PMAY-U 2.0 vision.
Currently in the second phase – 2025 to 2029, the PMAY has set a target of providing around 3 crore houses that will include basic amenities such as gas, electricity, water supply and toilets. Under this target, around 1 crore pucca houses will be built under PMAY-Urban 2.0 and 2 crore houses will be constructed under PMAY-Gramin.
The first phase of PMAY was for nine years from 2015 to 2024 where 118.64 lakh houses have been sanctioned and around 92 lakh houses have already been constructed and delivered to beneficiaries.
How to apply for PMAY online in 2025?
To start with, first identify the category that you fall under for applying for the PMAY affordable housing. Then, follow the mentioned steps.
- Visit the PMAY website at https://pmaymis.gov.in/
2. Click on Apply for PMAY-U 2.0 and you will reach https://pmaymis.gov.in/PMAYMIS2_2024/PMAY_SURVEY/EligiblityCheck.aspx where you can see instructions for the user. Once the instructions are read, click to proceed.
3. You will reach https://pmaymis.gov.in/PMAYMIS2_2024/PMAY_SURVEY/EligiblityCheck.aspx where you can check your eligibility.
4. Enter details such as the state in which you want to apply for your PMAY-U 2.0 unit, the household annual income, and the vertical. Remember that once a vertical is selected, then it cannot be changed at a later stage. Next, answer if you own a pucca house in any part of India and if you have availed benefits of any government housing scheme in the past 20 years.
5. Next, you will get the form where you will give consent for Aadhaar authentication. Enter Aadhaar no and name as per Aadhaar. Click on terms and conditions and click on Generate OTP.
Once this is done, fill the online form, upload the documents, and submit the online PMAY2025 form.
We bring to your notice that by simply filling up the application form shall not entitle a citizen to get the benefit of PMAY-U 2.0 scheme, unless the eligibility is verified by the respective States/UTs/ULBs/CNAs/PLIs.

How to apply for Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana offline?
Applicants can fill the PMAY offline form at state-run Common Service Centres (CSCs) or banks listed under the PMAY. You will have to pay a fee of Rs 25 to fill the PMAY 2025 registration form. Note that the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MOHUA) has not given authority to any private entity or person to collect a fee from any beneficiary under this scheme.
How to apply for PM Awas Yojana 2025 through bank?
To apply for the PM Awas Yojana through a bank, the beneficiaries should get in touch with the empaneled bank that gives home loans for credit-linked subsidy schemes. Beneficiaries of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana 2025 should submit the PMAY filled form with a copy of Aadhaar Card and other supporting documents to the bank.

- Fill the Aadhaar details and ‘select to register’. The remaining details will be filled automatically.
- After filling personal details, next give bank details. You can also click on Yes if you (beneficiary) want to avail a loan. Next, enter the loan amount.
- Next enter convergence details by entering job card no and SBM No.
- The last part of the form will be filled by the concerned office.
How to apply for PMAYG offline?
- To apply for PMAYG contact the concerned ward member at the gram panchayat and fill the application form.
- If the PM Awas Yojana Gramin prospective beneficiary is not able to fill the form and wants assistance from a third party, a consent form should be signed and submitted.
