Rajasthan chief minister Ashok Gehlot on September 21, 2023, inaugurated various development projects worth Rs 1,410 crore in Jaipur. Gehlot laid the foundation stone of phase 1-C of the Jaipur Metro project. The project’s estimated cost is Rs 980 crore. He also inaugurated nine development works of the JDA costing about Rs 430 crore, including Lakshmi Mandir Tiraha underpass and Ramnivas Bagh underground parking.
On this occasion, urban development and housing minister Shanti Dhariwal, public health engineering minister Mahesh Joshi, food and civil supplies Minister Pratap Singh Khachariyawas and Congress state president Govind Singh Dotasra were also present.
Gehlot travelled by Metro from Ramnagar metro station to Badi Chaupar. He visited the exhibition of the work done so far by Jaipur Metro at Badi Chaupar Metro Station. Gehlot also unveiled the statues of seven freedom fighters at Lakshmi Mandir Tiraha.
A vision document is being prepared under Mission-2030 to include Rajasthan among the leading states of the country for which suggestions have been taken from more than 2 crore people so far, said Gehlot, according to media reports. On the lines of Kota city, now work is going on to make Jaipur signal-free too. The vision is to make the entire state traffic light free by 2030, said the CM.
