ServicePlus is an initiative by the Central Government to make all government schemes and services accessible under a single platform. With 36 states onboarded, the portal covers over 3000 services. One can access the ServicePlus portal to get complete information about the various services and their eligibility and procedures.

The ServicePlus portal was launched in 2022 as a one-stop destination for various Central and State government programmes.

What is ServicePlus?

ServicePlus is a web-based application that makes all government services and schemes accessible to citizens. It enables the local authorities, such as panchayats and municipalities, and Central and State Government departments to configure their services. The ServicePlus portal has been developed as part of the Panchayat Enterprise Suite (PES) under the e-panchayat Mission Mode Project (MMP). It has been built on multi-tenant integrated software, which allows the simultaneous use of the server by multiple tenants.

 

What is the purpose of the ServicePlus portal?

The ServicePlus portal is an online platform that enables eligible beneficiaries to avail of the facilities and services provided by the state governments. Thus, it saves time and eliminates the need to physically visit a government office. It is an open-source website, which facilitates easy accessibility to services offered by government departments across states under a single platform.

 

Who can benefit from the ServicePlus portal?

The ServicePlus portal is beneficial for those looking to avail of different government services and schemes online. Beneficiaries include:

  • Indian citizens
  • Kiosk operators
  • Central and State ministries and departments
  • Local government bodies, such as municipal, corporation, panchayats and town development

All new schemes launched by the Centre and State governments are regularly updated on the ServicePlus portal. Register on the portal to find the latest services.

 

ServicePlus: Services available

  • Regulatory services: This includes services, such as permits for building construction and trade licenses.
  • Statutory services: This includes issuance of income certificates, birth and death certificates, etc.
  • Developmental services: These entail government welfare schemes, NREGS, such as the Indira Awaas Yojana, the National Rural Employment Guarantee Act and pensions.
  • Consumer utility services: This includes services, such as paying electricity bills.

  • Go to the official ServicePlus portal (serviceonline.gov.in). Click on the ‘Register’ option.

  • Go to the official portal of ServicePlus.
  • Click on the ‘Track application’ button on the home page.

  • Choose one of the given options to track the application – through the application reference number or OTP/application details.

  • To track ‘Through Application Reference Number’, you can provide the application submission or delivery date.
