How to pay property tax on the Surat Municipal Corporation website?

You can pay your property tax in Surat by following these simple steps:

Step 1: Visit the SMC official website, https://www.suratmunicipal.gov.in/.

Step 2: On the top left side, you will find the option ‘online services’. Once you click on the option, a drop-down menu will showcase more options to you. Select the ‘Pay Property Tax’ option on the SMC website to proceed.

Step 3: A new page will now open, which will ask you to enter the tenement number and answer a captcha question before you can hit on the ‘get pending tax amount’ option.

Note that your tenement number in Surat is a 14-digit identity for your house property. You can find it mentioned on your offline property tax payment receipt.

One you provide the tenement number, the portal will show you your property tax dues. You can proceed to pay it.

Note: The property tax payment service on the SMC is unavailable from 11:30 pm to 12:30 am every day as it is closed for maintenance. Pay your taxes on the portal accordingly.

SMC offers property tax waiver to over 1.11 lakh residents

March 2021: In a first, the SMC has decided to waive property tax of a total of 1,11,381 residential properties, spread across 225 sq metres. The major beneficiary of the move by the SMC will be residential properties located in the Udhna Zone, the Limbayat Zone and the Varachha Zone. The SMC’s decision is aimed at benefitting the migrant workers living in these areas and is likely to cost the municipal body Rs 22 crores.
