What is the Bhumi pujan Vidhi?
- Identification of the spot for the Bhumi Pujan. The spot must be cleaned after taking a bath. Gangajal is used for cleansing and purifying the spot.
- Digging: The puja begins with digging a pit in four corners of the plot and in the middle. This pit is also required from the foundation. Sprinkle water on the pits and apply the aasana. The foundation is chosen based on the auspicious muhurat and the name of the property owner.
- Puja preparation: Family members must chant ‘Hare Ram Hare Ram, Ram Ram Hare Hare, Hare Krishna Hare Krishna, Krishna Krishna Hare Hare’.
- Distribute water, soil, medicine and put them in an urn. Decorate it with flower garlands and write ‘Shri’ on it. Burn incense.
- Write ‘Shri’ on five stones using vermillion. Spread the seat in the northeast corner. Take the pegs and stones to all five pits.
