West Bengal government to invite developers, to build new towns

In a move to boost the real estate market in the state, the West Bengal government will invite bids from developers, for new townships and has also identified six cities for development

The West Bengal government will invite participation from real estate developers, to develop new townships.

Officials said private players can develop private townships on privately-owned land, for which the government will give all possible facilities.

The government will also develop six cities – Siliguri, Kalyani, Bolpur, Baruipur, Howrah and Asansol as theme cities, officials said.

Each of the cities will be themed around sports, senior citizens, health and education, industry, analytics and art and culture.
