Vellore Airport is located in Vellore, Tamil Nadu, India. Vellore Airport or Vellore Civil Aerodrome is easily accessible as it is only five km from Vellore city. This airport is owned by the Ministry of Civil Aviation and operated by the Airports Authority of India. Madras Flying Club used the space for training the budding pilots. However, the training was discontinued in March 2011. This airport was part of the ‘idle airports activation programme started by the Airports Authority of India. Vellore Airport was revived in 2016 and is still under construction.
