How to pay property tax online in Madhya Pradesh?
 Citizens can follow the below-mentioned procedure to pay their property tax online:
 Step 1: Visit the official website of e-Nagar Palika of Madhya Pradesh. Go to Pay Taxes/Charges/Fees > Property Tax > Property Tax Payment.

Step 2: The next page will have the Quick Pay link to pay property tax. Enter the property ID in the given field.
If the taxpayer does not know the property ID, they can click on the given link to search for the property ID.
To search for property, provide details such as city, ward number, owner name, house number, etc.
Step 3: Enter the property ID in the quick pay link. The subsequent page will display property details, including the tax payable. Enter the mobile number and email ID. Click on ‘Pay Online’.
Step 4: The next page will display the online payment details. Click on ‘Confirm’ to proceed or ‘Back’ to make any changes.
Step 5: You will be directed to the payment screen. Choose the preferred payment option (internet banking, credit/debit card, NEFT/RTGS, UPI). Accept the Terms and Conditions by selecting the specified box.

Property tax rules in Madhya Pradesh
All residential and non-residential properties situated within the limits of the urban local bodies of the state are assessed for tax. Property tax in Madhya Pradesh is levied based on such assessments. Section 135 of the Madhya Pradesh Municipal Corporation Act, 1956, relates to the levying of property tax in the state. It includes provisions for the assessment method of lands and buildings and collection of property tax. The act also specifies the tax rates and the properties that are liable for property tax and those exempted from tax.
Residential properties for which the annual rental value is less than Rs 6,000 for the municipal with a population of less than one lakh are exempted from property tax. A rebate of 6.25% is granted for taxpayers who pay their taxes before the due date.
