Bihar govt to take action for delay in PMAY-G fund release

A deadline of one week has been given to these officials after which action will be taken against them.

The Bihar government has warned of initiating strict action against officials responsible for not releasing the second/third instalment of PMAY-Grahmin (PMAY-G) funds to the beneficiaries, mention media reports. A deadline of one week has been given to these officials, after which action will be taken against them.

Of the over 35.5 lakh PMAY-G beneficiaries in Bihar, around 37,974 have completed construction of their houses till April 13, 2023. These beneficiaries are still waiting for the release of third instalment of PMAY-G funds, as per media reports.

Under PMAY-G Bihar, construction of 3, 704,375 housing units was sanctioned.  Of these 3, 550,523 units were completed till April 13, 2023. While the third instalment has been released to 3, 512,549 beneficiaries, there are 37,974 beneficiaries who are waiting for it.
