Deadline to link Voter ID with Aadhaar card extended to March 31, 2024

While linking of voting ID and Aadhaar card is authorised, it is not mandatory to link both of them.

The government has extended the last date to link Voter IDs with Aadhaar cards to March 31, 2024, from the April 1, 2023.  Following the passing of the Election Laws (Amendment) Bill in the Lok Sabha in December 2021, linking of Voter ID with Aadhaar has been made authorised.
