With the digitisation of gram panchayats in India, citizens can now access the eGram Swaraj portal and its mobile application, to get information about panchayat development works in their villages. Apart from easy access to information, the e gram swaraj platform allows making payment and status checks simpler.

The Ministry of Panchayati Raj (MoPR) has introduced the online payment mechanism for the Gram Panchayats (GPs). It has also enabled GPs to make real-time digital payments to service providers for the works or projects undertaken.

How to create an account on the e gram swaraj portal?

Citizens must first sign up on the e gram swaraj website to make payments. They must create an account, which will enable them to get the latest updates on developmental works in their respective village.

Step 1: Visit the e-Gram Swaraj official website at https://egramswaraj.gov.in/

Step 2: Click on the ‘Apply Online’ link.

Step 3: A registration form will be displayed. Complete the form with the relevant details.

Step 4: Submit the form. The account credentials will be sent to the user.

How to make a payment on the e-gram Swaraj website?

Go to the e-Gram Swaraj official website at https://egramswaraj.gov.in/
Complete the login process by entering the username, password and captcha code. Click on ‘Login’.

Go to the ‘Payment Voucher’ section. Click on ‘Online Payment’.
The create payment voucher screen will be displayed. Complete the form by providing relevant details such as:
- Nature of payment.
- From the drop-down menu under the work tab, select the type of scheme for which payment must be made.
- Choose scheme name.
- Using smart search, choose details as required.
- Type in the amount.
- Choose the payment mode. Provide details of the payment.
Click on ‘Submit’ after filling in all the details.
Verify the details and click on ‘Freeze’. A confirmation message for the submission of the voucher, including the voucher number will be displayed on the screen.

If you want to close the entries for a specified date, it can be done using your digital signature. The steps are explained below:

Move to the close date option. Close the daybook.
Now, choose ‘Master Entry’.
Click on ‘DSC Management’. Then, click on the ‘Sign FTO’ button.
Verify your details displayed on the screen. Approve it using your Digital Signature Certificate (DSC).

How to check e gram swaraj payment status?

The e gram swaraj portal enables checking payment status online. One can view the village-wise details and payment status report.

Visit the e-Gram Swaraj official website.
Click on the ‘Online Payment Status Report’ option.

On the next page, provide details. From the drop-down lists shown on the page, select the financial year and state. Choose the ‘Report Type’, ‘Scheme Type’ and ‘Amount In’.
Submit the captcha code.
Click on the ‘View Report’ button given at the end of the page.
The complete payment status report will be displayed on the screen.
