In April 2020, the Mysuru City Corporation (MCC), the civic body responsible for the administration of the urban areas of Mysore city, introduced the online facility for property tax payment for the citizens. As a property owner, one is required to pay property tax every year. The MCC is one of the major municipal corporations in Karnataka. Through its official website, it has made the tax payment process easy for people.
How to pay Mysore property tax online?
Step 1: Visit the Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) website. Click on ‘View Property Details and Pay Online’ under Online Services.
Click on the ‘View’ button to check the completed Mysore property tax details online.
Step 2: Choose one of the two options – Search by Criteria’s or Search by PID.

Step 3: Click on the ‘Search by Criteria’s’ option in case you do not have the PID (Property Identification Number). You will be required to enter details such as ward number, property number, new assessment number, owner name and mobile number.

Step 4: The page will display property details. Click on the ‘View’ link to get more details. The next page on the Mysore City Corporation property tax portal will display complete information related to the property tax, including the payment status and total amount.
Step 5: Click on ‘Get Form-2’ OR ‘View Tax & Pay’ and proceed to make the MCC property tax online payment.
After successful payment, you can download or print the acknowledgement from the Mysuru city corporation portal.

How to pay MUDA property tax online?
Now, property owners in Mysuru can access the new portal of Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) to pay their Mysore property tax online.
Step 1: Visit the MUDA property tax online portal. Click on ‘Pay Property Tax Online’ option.
Step 2: Read the instructions displayed on the screen. Select the details from the given fields such as layout and site number. You can search using these details, along with the Khata holder name or mobile number.
Users can also search using housing society option by providing Site number and PID number.

Click on the ‘View’ button to check the completed Mysore property tax details online. Users must click on view tax & pay on the next page to pay MUDA property tax online. They can download the acknowledgement after paying their property tax online.
How to pay Mysore property tax using Karnataka One portal?
Citizens can pay their property tax through the Karnataka One online portal by following the steps given below:
- Go to the Karnataka One portal at karnatakaone.gov.in
- Select the city name as Mysore
- Register on the portal by providing personal details such as name, mobile number, address, etc.
- Login to the portal using unique credentials, if already registered.
- Under the list of services, choose property tax payment online. Users will be redirected to the Mysore City Corporation Property Tax payment page.
- Enter your PID number and click on ‘search’.
- Submit the relevant details such as property number, ward number, registered mobile number, etc. and the amount to be paid.
- Select your preferred payment mode from the given options – net banking, credit card, debit card, Paytm, etc.
- Accept the terms and conditions and proceed to pay the Mysore City Corporation Property Tax. Click on OK to submit the transaction.

How to pay Mysore property tax offline?
In case you do not prefer to the MCC property tax online payment mode, you can follow the offline method. If you own a residential property in Mysore, you can pay your house tax by visiting the MCC zonal office or main office. Challans for the property tax will be generated. Payment can be made through cash, cheque or DD.
How is property tax calculated in Mysore?
Property taxes levied on a property vary as per the local civic authority such as municipal corporations, municipal councils and panchayats. Property tax is calculated by taking into account several factors such as:
- Total building plinth area
- Approved or unapproved building area
- Rent per square foot/ Monthly Rental Value (MRV)
- Building type (whether residential or commercial property)
- Building usage per sq ft
- Location of the property
- Age of the property

For calculating Mysore Property Tax, make sure you have all the relevant documents and information related to your property. Property tax in Mysore can be calculated online through the official portal by entering the 15-digit PID. In case you do not know your PID, you can get your property details by providing the owner name, mobile number, property number, new assessment number, etc. Click on property details and pay online option under the ‘online services’ tab.
Property tax exemptions in Mysore
Certain types of properties are exempted from property tax. These include:
- Structures and lands owned by the central government, corporation and the state government
- Agricultural lands
- Buildings/ lands used for educational purposes, including schools, boarding houses, libraries, hostels, etc.
- Vacant lands or structures occupied exclusively used for public worship, charity purposes or for public burial or cremation ground
- Properties owned by the corporation officers or the employees who are completely disabled
- Properties owned by the political parties recognised by the Election Commission of India
Mysore property tax rebate
The Mysuru city corporation offers a discount of 5% on property tax payments made on or before June 30th, 2025. The announcement to offer the rebate was made on May 9th, 2025. Earlier, the discount on Mysuru property tax was available till April 30th 2025.
In case of delayed payment of property taxes, the municipal authority levies a penalty of 2% every month.
Digitisation initiative by Mysore City Corporation
The municipal authority has granted property IDs to nearly 1.7 lakh property owners. Field verification about property measurements will be done to determine tax. The calculated data will be fed into the database. Under the new system, geo-stamp will be enabled on all properties within the MCC limit after all information such as GPS data, floor numbers, construction type, location, etc. has been collected.
In December 2020, the MCC announced the allotment of QR code to properties under the MCC limits. The move was based on the concept of ‘One Corporation One Number’. Under the system, 3D photos of buildings will be taken and a QR code sticker will be affixed to the building’s exterior wall. By scanning this QR code, a property owner can pay the property tax, water bill, trade license and other CESS imposed by the MCC. The payment can be made through UPI, net banking, credit or debit card.
