By air: The airport in Cochin is the nearest airport, located at a distance of 132 kilometres from Idukki. This airport has access to several domestic and international flights, making travelling to Idukki convenient. Roughly 20 minutes by air from Cochin International Airport (CIAL), you can reach your destination easily.

By road: Several buses run between Cochin and Idukki daily, offering a convenient mode of transportation for visitors moving between these two places. The journey takes approximately 3 hours from Cochin International airport to Idukki via Changanacherry and Kottayam railway stations. Many vehicles are plying on NH-49, which connects Idukki with other parts of the state and other states in India.
