Yamuna Expressway in UP

Delhi and Agra are linked via the Yamuna Expressway in Uttar Pradesh. The Taj Expressway is another name for the expressway. It is an access-controlled highway with seven interchanges and a number of bridges. With the opening of the Yamuna Expressway, the time to travel between Delhi and Agra is reduced to two and a half hours.

Agra- Lucknow Expressway in UP

The expressway between Agra and Lucknow opened in November 2016. While previously the travel time between Agra and Lucknow was about six hours, the expressway helps cover this distance in three-and-a-half hours.

The Yamuna Expressway is also connected to the Agra- Lucknow Expressway, reducing the time taken to go to Delhi. The expressway is lined with service roads.

There are 24/7 patrols on the motorway and it has around 10 ambulances to tackle emergencies. The expressway starts at the Etmadpur Madra village in Agra and ends in the Sarosa Bharosa village, Mohan Road, Lucknow. The expressway travels through 10 villages and 236 districts.

 

Delhi-Meerut Expressway in UP

The Delhi-Meerut Expressway, also known as the National Expressway 3, spans 96 km and connects Delhi to Meerut via Dasna in Ghaziabad. The National Highway 9 (NH-9) with eight lanes from Delhi to Dasna has been expanded to 14 lanes, making it the widest expressway in India.

Purvanchal Expressway in UP

The Purvanchal Expressway was inaugurated in 2021. Karwal Kheri in the Sultanpur district was where the expressway was  made operational from. Ghazipur, Mau, Azamgarh, Ambedkar Nagar, Ayodhya, Sultanpur, Amethi, Barabanki and Lucknow are among the districts the expressway covers. Currently, it takes 10 hours to get from Lucknow to Ghazipur. Prior to the Purvanchal Expressway’s construction, the journey took about 15 hours.

 

 

Bundelkhand Expressway in UP

The Uttar Pradesh Expressways Industrial Development Authority (UPEIDA) is responsible for building the Bundelkhand Expressway. The entire project was constructed in 28 months. On February 29, 2020, the foundation stone for the Bundelkhand Expressway was laid down by Prime minister Narendra Modi. The expressway was inaugurated on July 16, 2022. In Uttar Pradesh, it passes through seven districts Chitrakoot, Banda, Mahoba, Hamirpur, Jalaun, Auriaya and Etawah. Additionally, the expressway is linked to the Delhi-Meerut Expressway.

 

Gorakhpur Link Expressway in UP

Construction of the Gorakhpur Expressway is currently underway. Divided into two phases, the motorway will link Gorakhpur and Lucknow once completed. It will join the Purvanchal Motorway in Salarpur. It will cut the travel taken from Gorakhpur to Lucknow to five hours.

Ganga Expressway in UP

The Ganga Expressway is a new project that will connect Prayagraj and Meerut. It will start at the Bijauli village and end at the Judapur Dandu village. The motorway will pass through about 12 UP districts. The Ganga Expressway’s construction is expected to accelerate local economic development.

 

Noida-Greater Noida Expressway in UP

The Noida-Greater Noida Expressway is an extension of the Taj Expressway, seamlessly connecting Noida and Greater Noida in Uttar Pradesh. This expressway also intersects with the Faridabad-Noida-Ghaziabad (FNG) Expressway. Spanning 24.53 kilometers, this 6-lane expressway commences at the Mahamaya Flyover in Noida and extends to Pari Chowk in Greater Noida. Covering a distance of 62.76 9km, this 6-lane expressway, also known as National Expressway 6, parallels NH 25 for approximately 3.5 kilometers. Ghaziabad-Kanpur Expressway in UP

The Ghaziabad-Kanpur Expressway is a project in Uttar Pradesh aimed at connecting two prominent industrial towns while dramatically reducing travel time. Currently, the journey between these cities via the Yamuna Expressway takes around six hours, but this new 4-lane expressway aims to bring that down to a mere three hours. Stretching over a substantial distance of 380 kilometers, it will traverse nine major districts, including Ghaziabad, Hapur, Bulandshahr, Aligarh, Kasganj, Farrukhabad, Kannauj, Unnao, and Kanpur. It is anticipated to be completed by December 2025.

 

Gorakhpur-Siliguri Expressway in UP

The upcoming Gorakhpur-Siliguri Expressway is set to connect the vital states of Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and West Bengal. Spanning a length of 18.97 kilometers in West Bengal, 416 kilometers in Bihar, and 84.3 kilometers in Uttar Pradesh, this strategic expressway promises to slash travel time from 15 hours to a mere 6 hours.

 

Ghazipur-Ballia-Manjhi Ghat Expressway in UP

A highly anticipated project in Uttar Pradesh, the Ghazipur-Ballia-Manjhi Ghat Expressway will link Ghazipur in Uttar Pradesh to Buxar in Bihar. The initial phase, costing Rs 618 crores, will witness the construction of this greenfield expressway. Delhi- Saharanpur-Dehradun Expressway in UP

Gorakhpur-Shamli Expressway in UP
