January 30, 2024: A total of 53 members have defaulted in paying the property tax with arrears to the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) even after repeated reminders. According to the PMC, the total outstanding amount is Rs 14,74,15,057.
Properties which have defaulted in paying the property tax have been confiscated by the PMC, under .the rules 42 to 47 of Chapter VIII (Taxation Rules) of Schedule ‘D’. The municipal corporation intends to sell these properties to recover the property tax through an auction. This is the second public auction that the municipal corporation.
The auction will be held on February 14, 2024 between 12- 3 PM. To participate in the auction, interested people can visit https://pmc.gov.in/mr/auction-of-arrears-of-income-through-the-Income-tax-department. Note that you can access this website in both Marathi and English.
The last date for submission of applications for the auction is February 8, 2024. To participate in the said auction process, you need to have Tender Key (DSC- Digital Signature).
