March 8, 2024: The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) on March 7, 2024 presented the annual Budget of Rs 11,601 crore for FY24-25. The PMC saw an increase of Rs 2,086 crore in the Budget than the year before.
Budget 2024-25 did not touch upon any hike in property tax in Pune. This is the eighth time in a row, with the last property tax hiked in 2016-17.
The main focus of the Pune Municipal Corporation through Budget 2024-25 will be to improve the infrastruture of Pune. The PMC will develop eight new flyovers or grade separators in the city. Also, focus will be on the development of 33 missing link roads.
The PMC will also start work on Pune Metro Phase-2. Additionally, the PMC will add more CNG and e-Buses to Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Ltd
Flyovers/ grade separators proposed in Pune
According to media reports, the flyovers to be constructed are:
- Grade separator and flyover at Vishrantwadi
- Grade separator or flyover at Shastrinagar Chowk
- Grade separator at Kharadi Bypass
- Flyover on railway line in Sasanenagar
- Railway underpass at Range Hills
- Flyover at Thackeray Chowk in Yerawada
- Flyover at Ambedkar Chowk on Alandi Road
- Four flyovers or grade separators on Ganeshkhind Road.
