In an interview, the actor said that he purchased the house beyond his means, as he remembered what his idol and Bollywood superstar, Shah Rukh Khan, once told him. Rao told Mashable India that Shah Rukh once said to him “Whenever you buy a house, purchase it a little beyond your means. That way, you will work harder because you would want to earn it.”

Earlier, Shah Rukh Khan has said that when he purchased his Mumbai house, Mannat, it was beyond his buying capacity, and after purchasing it, he was left with no money to furnish it.
